Sierra Maestra, the highest area of Cuba is a mountain range located in Santiago de Cuba Province, a small part of Granma Province.

The island group of Cuba has a combined area of 109,884 km² (42,426 sq mi), compared it is about the size of Bulgaria, or slightly smaller than the U.S. state of Pennsylvania.

The island nation has a population of 11.4 million (official estimate 2014); capital and largest city is Havana (Habana); official language is Spanish.

Cuba is famous for its cigars, its rum made from sugar cane, its ladies, Salsa and other Cuban dance styles, Fidel Castro and Che Guevara, 1950s-era cars, Spanish-colonial architecture, Cuban National Ballet, Buena Vista Social Club and Guantanamo Bay.

Cuban American cars. In 1960 United States embargo against Cuba ended both importation of cars and their parts. Since then, many rides had been modified inevitably, with spare parts often scavenged from Soviet cars.
